Salsa Socials in Seoul

As a fellow Latin dancer enthusiast, I always enjoy finding dance socials where ever we go. What better way to get to know the locals then to dance. Below, you’ll find a Google Maps link with the locations of these spots. its “El café Latino- new York bar” and “Turn Salsa” Please note, this trip was in June 2022, and I’ve double-checked that all the businesses on the list are still in operation. I’ve removed any that are no longer around.

Turn Salsa and El Cafe Latino

Both of these places were a blast to dance at, but my favorite was Turn Salsa. Be aware, though, that Turn can be a little tricky to find. As you get close, you’ll hear the music playing, and you’ll spot a small sign that says “Turn” with “B1” underneath. Head down the stairs, and you’ll find yourself in the dance hall. Don’t let the exterior fool you—I was a bit skeptical at first, too. Inside, there’s a bar serving drinks, and they play bachata and salsa all night. Most dancers prefer salsa on 2, so if you’re not familiar with it, I recommend practicing a bit before you go. Otherwise, just have fun!

As for Café Latino, I suggest arriving around midnight or later. We showed up at 10 p.m., thinking it would be busy, but learned from the bartenders and owner that in Korea, the party doesn’t really get going until 1 or 2 a.m., and it continues until around 5 a.m. The nightlife here is definitely different, but we loved it!

If you have any recommendations for other great dance spots, feel free to share them in the comments below. The dance community thrives on sharing fun places to dance, and we’d love to hear your suggestions!
